Our Mission

Why Gurukulam Was Created

In today’s fast-paced world, there is a growing concern over the erosion of character, moral values, and essential virtues such as humility, patience, self-control, and perseverance among youth. Many young individuals, when left outside the guiding influence of their families, often succumb to destructive habits including smoking, drinking, exposure to pornography, and other illicit indulgences. Such behavior not only compromises their academic growth but also undermines their personal development, with serious consequences that sometimes include mental and physical harm caused by ragging, even in reputed institutions.

To counteract these challenges, Gurukulam was founded as a sanctuary for talented youth, providing a nurturing environment that promotes disciplined living, high moral standards, intellectual rigor, and wholesome habits. Conceived by a dedicated group of alumni from JU, CU, Heritage, IEM, GCELT, GCECT, TMSL, RCCIIT this initiative aims to guide students toward holistic growth—ensuring they excel academically while developing into morally, spiritually, and socially responsible individuals. Gurukulam stands as a beacon of excellence, safeguarding young minds from societal pitfalls and fostering the values necessary for a purposeful and successful life.

The most important purpose of Gurukulam is to protect students from:
Loss of Purity
Loss of Wisdom
Lack of Peace of mind
Loss of Self confidence
Lack of Cleanliness
Loss of Concentration
Loss of Determination
Loss of Vichara shakti (power of enquiry)
Loss of Dharana shakti (power to grasp)
Lack of Viveka (discrimination power)

In general hostel life students develops all the bad habits like smoking, drinking, hunting for girls/prostitues, watching pornography & all the bad qualities like going to bed at very late night, waking up in the very late morning, using slangs while speaking, not respecting superiors, losing control of senses to enjoy anything they like. Such kind of life shows impact when the students passes out & join the real life of Job & married life.they are not able to work in the atmosphere of discipline, moraI & ethical conduct in their work life & they are not able to maintain good relationships in their family life due to lack of their patience, due to lack of control of senses. I was also a victim of such kind of hostel life. But thanks to Gurukulam which saved my life when I was completely frustrated after living in JU hostel for 1 year.

I therefore request all the 1st year students to take this opportunity of life of Gurukulam to become a real human being. We are providing funds for your welfare. Just use them & enjoy the real happiness.

I stayed in Gurukulam for 4 years of my college life. Here I am enlisting the reasons:

  1. It is like home away from home as the facilitators of Gurukulam guides the residents like their own brothers selflessly as they have nothing to gain from us.
  2. I never enjoyed such delicious & nutritious pure vegetarian breakfast, lunch & dinner even in my home. I never felt to eat outside street food or restaurant food during my Gurukulam days though I belong to a financially affluent family.
  3. I got real friends, real guides in my life from Gurukulam. I could not find any trace of jealousy, envy, greed, quarrelsome nature, cheating tendencies among the people managing the Gurukulam. Its next to impossible to find out such places of stay in today’s world in the cities like Kolkata where there is every chance to get cheated, robbed, misguided.

Please don’t take this opportunity cheaply as Gurukulam is providing all the facilities at very cheap rate.

I am connected to Gurukulam from the year 2013 when I was passing out B.SC in Physics from Narendrapur Ramkrishna Mission.I was not getting M.Sc in any good university. Gurukulam mentors guided me to pursue BE from CU in Radio Physics & Electronics of 3 years. Though I was from CU I did not know that such opportunities were there. After BE I was again confused regarding which path to take as I was not interested in software job & to get core jobs was also not an easy task. then the Gurukulam mentors counseled me to the persuasion of ME in VLSI technology. After that I was again in confusion as I was interested in a teaching job but at that time no college or university was ready to pay a good & handsome salary to an assistant prof. Gurukulam seniors gave me the contact of KIIT university of Bhubaneswar where the package was around 10 lacs /annum. I took that opportunity & now I am working there & I am happily situated in both my work life & married life. All this was possible due to constant career guidance from the Gurukulam mentors.

Dear 1st years, we are there to help you, guide you as a token of gratitude for whatever we got from Gurukulam. I will be looking forward to the opportunity to meet you & that will be possible if you choose the life of Gurukulam. i wish you all the best.

Dear 1st years, I will share with you a very important aspect of our student & working life. That aspect is the aspect of time management. In general hostel life students waste lots of time in various non sense activities which degrade themselves & then at the time of semesters they fall in huge pressures of studies. when students lead such kind of life they fail to develop the concepts of engineering & technology. But the residents & students of Gurukulam do their studies from the beginning of the semesters by the attending regular study slots. They develop good concepts in their engineering studies & they lead a peaceful, smooth life of shining career of job life or life of research. Another aspect I will tell you. That is the aspect of experiencing joy in life by spiritual practices. When your heart gets filled up by joy & self satisfying happiness then there remains no requirements to indulge ourselves in the self destructing bad activities for flickering enjoyment of smoking, drinking etc. So in the life of Gurukulam you will become a completely divine person. Please don't miss the opportunity to be part of Gurukulam.
